Viv in a time trialThe club has an active female membership and we would love to see this increase. There are women on many of the club rides and several of us race regularly throughout the season. We have some women only rides and training sessions and a women's forum to arrange socials and events.

Rides

We aim to have at least 2 womens rides through the winter. These will rides of around 3 hour meeting in the city centre at 9am on a Saturday or Sunday morning. Any members can arrange rides from and to wherever they wish using the rides list on the website so check there for the latest ride details (you can filter the list to ride type 'womens only'). Between these, the intro rides and general club rides there should be something suitable for most riders.

For real beginners, we recommend checking out Team Glow - a women only cycling group that has lots of rides and training for women new to cycling.

Time Trials

Time trialling is a great introduction to cycling - you can find out more about it on the about cycling section of this website. A great place to start is with the club time trials which are really friendly and supportive. There are also manchester ladies cycling time trials run by the MDLCA which are a unique chance to race against other women.  They also run invitation events where you can invite someone else to ride and the pair with the fastest combined time wins.

Another great way to race is to ride 2, 3 or 4 person team time trials. There are a number of events throughout the season which can be great fun to do together. Check the events list and forum for details of the rides our members are doing.

Road Races

There are a number of circuits and road races suitable for women in the area including a great new circuit run by british cycling in Ashton. A number of women in the club are interested in trying these events. Again, keep an eye on the forum for the latest news on these.
