Some members will be aware there is a video-tape of the above record attempt by our sponsorship-era star rider, which was given to the club some years back. This video was and possibly still is, circulating among the membership for anyone to watch - I saw it myself some years back but do not know its current location.
Progress being what it is, there is now a new improved DVD version of which John has kindly donated a copy to the club. This updated version contains additional footage, some of which has never been shown before, including his earlier attempt and his collection of racing bikes.
It's possible that many of the younger members do not have a tape player so this will be a chance for a new audience to view some of John's finest hours.
