I'm not in a desperate hurry for new a touring bike but if anyone sees something nice / good value at any point let me know. Pref second hand.
Small, mud guard clearance, pannier bolts, decent components. Something that will last years without necessarily weighing a tonne.
Firstly so i dont have to use my work bike for long rides, but also so ive got half a chance of keeping up with jerry while touring on his nice carbon pearson tourer. edited by viv on 02/02/2012

The last one might be quite good if you don't already have a CX-able bike.

As bikes are everyones favourite topic thought i'd let you all join in the game. So now i'm edging towards 'investing' in a titanium touring frame, one i can get excited about riding in winter for training but also for trips with panniers (mostly soft touring rather than camping).
Any thoughts/alternatives to these beauties, or any deals you see let me know...

Not sure what your budget is Viv, (I'm guessing not a bad one if you're looking at Ti frames) but Kinesis have just launched their 2012 Ti frame. http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=kinesis%20titanium%20frame&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CEkQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ukbikestore.co.uk%2Fproduct%2F78%2Fk_rl_gf_ti_%2Fkinesis-racelight-granfondo-titanium-frame-2012.html&ei=Z1w5T-CZLIib8gPHo8DWDQ&usg=AFQjCNHFIJ0Qbt5ylEeWXC1D2YXWocN9bQ&cad=rja Humana humana!

VIV ,a friend of mine has the spa cycles titanium audax bike and he said its great ,they do a tourer too ,very good reviews and exceptional value with good componants, sure he has SRAM on his .I went to harrogate as i was thinking about one myself but unfortuntely the smallest size is far too big for me,(50cm)The guy also had some sabbath bikes and he was selling them cheaper than he had bought them and he had a few ,they really look fantastic, again too big for me.The guy was really helpful and friendly ,apparantly they were involved in the production of sabbath at one time or enigma and decided they could do just as good a job if not better so started to do their own spa cycle brand. Its worth taking a look and when i went down there a few weeks ago he had sabbath bikes too hidden in the back garage / shed so you my need to ask as they are not on show .Good luck .I sometimes wish i had longer arms and legs in order to grab a bargain .
