Tameside Winter Training Sessions.
As last year we have the Thursday Evening training sessions at the Tameside race circuit in Ashton.
These will run every week from the 2nd of Febuary until the race league starts in May.
(Unless very bad weather)
There will be a group riding out from Wills Wheels shop in Heaton Chapel departing 19.00hrs.
Returning for a steady ride home in the same direction after the session.
(You must have lights on)
The session is approx 70mins.
For those driving out to the Circuit please be ready to ride at 19.45.
These will run in a similar format as last winter, so are open to all levels.
Price is £2.50 per rider which all goes into the Tameside Circuit funds.

I WAS planning on driving because I'm working in town. However, I've been informed that "It's Caths 40th on Thursday, yada, yada, yada, We're going out for a meal, yada, yada, yada. I've told you about a dozen times! Yada, yada, yada. You never liasten to a word I say, yada, yada, yada......" So, next week for me then! ;-)

Cheers Rothers. I may give this a whirl this Thursday just to see how I fair after a 12 hr shift and a bike commute home. A quick turnaround at home would be required as I don't normally get home till about 18.45. This may prove to be a painful experience. Would you have it any other way though? I think not.

Andy, for Cheadle this week we met at the Greyhound and rode about 25 miles steady to get there to warm up etc. I'm hoping to do similar for Ashton, though I don't think I can make this week as my girlfriend has arranged for a delivery at home between 9 and 10pm, and I'll be in all kinds of trouble if I miss it because I'm out pedaling (again!)

Is anyone interested in arranging a wheelers meeting point didsbury way for the ride out? I think Matt's up for this as well so we may as well try and ride out together. edited by Tom R on 30/01/2012

I'm assuming you don't want to come to the Gateway given that it's in the wrong direction? Why don't you just head to Wills Wheels and meet there @ 7pm? Happy to meet somewhere else if you think there's a better place?

Great session tonight down at Ashton. First time for me and first impressions were that it was a well organised session. Well worth the trip down if anyone is considering it. Only four Wheelers down there tonight. Myself, Andy A, Tom and Matt R. Thought we represented the club well though, even if my chain gang skills were a bit ropey.

Make that five Wheelers. I was at this session too. Having only recently joined the club, and only been out with the club on one prevous ride, I was not wearing any of the Wheelers kit. Good session for putting a bit of speed in your legs at this time of year. Dave T.
