Afternoon all. I have never had a need to deal with issues with the crank so need some advice please. Last night whilst cycling home it felt as though the N/s pedal was missing a beat near the top of the stroke. When I got home there was some play when you got hold of both crank arms and tried to move from side to side. I tightend the nut on the inside of the crank arm and this seemed to stop the slight play that I felt. Today the problem seemed to be on the offside but was speradic and for some miles nothing was felt at all. To try and expalin it seems something is loose but when you examine everthing all seems ok. Any advice would be appreciated. thanks from a novice mechanic.

If you're getting play in the crank arms that usually means your bottom bracket needs replacing...
