Hi everyone

have put a women's ride in for Saturday January 21st around Ramsbottom.

This is meant to be a beginner's introduction to climbing with lots of practice!

However for more experienced riders the hills are short enough for people to do each a couple of times when you're waiting for those of us who are a little slower.

Also for those of you who want to do more miles, I've put 10am as the start time, so that people who want to cycle to and from Rammy as an extra can do so.

I'll be going out whatever the weather short of snow and you'd be more than welcome at my place for coffee afterwards or we can leave bikes at my place and go to a tea shop.

My postcode is BL09HY and I am in walking distance of the start point at the Grant's arms.

I will try to make that one too. I'm not sure of my availability at the moment because I am on a Sports Rehabilitation placement with the Salford City Reds Rugby League team. Would love to try out some new hills :-)

Hi Helen

glad to hear about your new placement! For my sins I am a Salford City Reds fan! I won't blame you if they don't do well this season. Another Helen who is considering joining lives round the corner from me and we tried out this route last Sunday in awful conditions and it was still lots of fun. If you can't make Saturday let me know and Helen and me will organise another trip round the hills and invite you another day.

All the best Julia

Hi Jayne please don't worry-the wind was an issue for a good few miles when we went round the back of Holcombe hill to meet up with the Grane Road.

It's very beautiful but Helen (prospective new member) and Cheryl were Trojans!

I think we all agree that on our own we wouldn't have done the last 16 miles as they were very exposed-but it'll give the three of us something to chat about on Tuesday.

Luckily we all got back safely and I will put something else in oop north for February as one of the best things about it is everyone has a challenge but it's doable to most people.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday-have a great weekend Julia
