Would anyone be interested in a club session at the new indoor BMX track at the Velodrome ?
The uni lot just did a session and by all accounts it sounds fun - including the rider extracted by paramedics on a spinal board!

I did look at this a while ago but a few things have got in the way. It's Friday night at 7 to do the accreditation thing that you need if you want to go to the open gate sessions. It'll be much easier to organise if we agree a Friday night and all book individually, rather than trying to have a private session for the club, unless someone want to take responsibility for booking a private session? I've looked at the track private sessions before, the stumbling block has always been that someone has to stump up the cash and hope people turn up and pay them back.

I think Mike is only talking about a club booking, and not open sessions. There wouldn't be any requirements for accreditation if we book a private club session. The coach on the day might decide that some riders can't go on the higher sections of the track, but everyone would get a go at riding round. As far as I can tell, it's no different to a velodrome club booking.

You're right about someone putting forward the cash, although that's never been an issue before with velodrome bookings, so we shouldn't be put off. It looks like most of each Sunday is reserved to club bookings, so we could incorporate it into a club run (I mean hiring the bikes there, not all of us riding from Didsbury on BMXs !!).

Cool, I was just posting from the point of view of trying to get my mountain bike club to the velodrome, loads of interest, but no one to stump up the cash, understandably. In the end I sorted it by picking a date and booking my self on a taster session and telling everyone to book on the same session. We ended up with about 16 from the club doing it and probably no different to a private booked session, worked great and was great fun.

I also figured that the Friday evening slot would be a good time for most people to go and anyone that wants would be able to get accredited and go to the gates sessions as well, which I'd like to do. I'm away a lot at weekends, but I can always delay setting off for something like this, but I would struggle for a Sunday afternoon or early evening slot. Which would make me very sad

I should really just book myself on a session and tell you all to join me really.

I've just had a chat with them about doing the Accelerated Induction; for some reason they've changed the timetable for the next two weeks and they don't know what the time table will be for the following week yet! I was hoping to book on for Friday the 16th, but am likely to book on Monday the 12th instead now. There are currently 15 slot s available.

To see what the session is all about.

Anyone else fancy joining me?
