I have got a rare weekend in Mcr and the weather looks pretty good so was thinking of what to do. Im not taking things too seriously at the moment and am quite into exploring new places so im thinking either head to Pendle to ride around there or go off tarmac on one of the trails or sustrans routes, see what i can find. Emphasis being on going somewhere new and a relaxing ride.

There are a couple of rides up for Sunday which look good so maybe Saturday? I realise that all sounds a bit random and unorganised...which it is. I also fancy a lateish start and hopefully lunch somewhere but if anyone wants to join me and help me make up a plan let me know.

BTW - have also been talking with Si B about exploring the Irwell trails from Prestwich a bit now there are quite a few of us living there or nearby. Maybe a weekend or one evening with lights? If any more of the North Manchester massif are up for it, let us know.

My trail exploring on Monday was most enjoyable. I think much fun could be had playing on the Irwell Trails at night. No HR monitors, no bike computers just roaming around to the pace of the slowest rider and seeing where we end up.........which could be the Church Inn for a refreshing pint before heading off home!!

I may be about for a bimble about on Sunday if you fail to sort anything out. The "may" is all dependent upon the maturity of my mates on Saturday night (Turnbulls & Feeneys are quite low on the scale after drink) and my ability to say "I've had enough beer now thanks", which will also be quite low if we hit Bar Fringe and their fine Belgian selection!!

Hehe. Well happy to head out late and dont have a schedule to stick to. Your bimble will be about my race pace anyway so that could work. And a pint in church inn afterwards sounds great, continue the celebrations

BTW Rode from Whalley out through Pendle and Trough of Bowland and was ace - sunny, quiet roads, steep hills if you want them but alternatives if not. Worth the drive out for a change of scenery.
