Well, I've just sealed the envelope on my application form and will post it off in work tonight (I work for Royal Mail at Mcr Mail Centre) I came out on the intro ride last week and thouroughly enjoyed riding in a group for a change. Thanks again to Rob and the other Wheelers who guided us around.
Should I introduce myself here? Here goes anyway
Names Chris, 42, married to the lovely Johanna, 2 kids, Isaac 14 and Paige 15, dog Ellie and cat Smudge. Been riding bikes for years, used to be really into my road bike training while I competed in the NEMBA series back in the day. Used to also do the Leisure Lakes series, summer and winter, over at Tarleton nr Preston. However, kids, work and life in general got in the way, and also an obsession with cars (subaru in particular) and my cycling took a dive, while my weight took a rise!
Got rid of the car last year, bought a road bike on the cycle to work scheme (specialized Allez double) and haven't looked back since (except to check there's nothing behind me when turning right ) Done a couple of sportives this year, and also some mtb races (other bike is a cannondale jekyll mtb) and that is what I'm getting fitter for. Had some great rides this year while doing the www.cvmbc.co.uk and the pennine challenge, and have the Holmefirth challenge and Grizedale lined up for September.
I'm now looking forward to coming out again with you guys/gals on the sunday runs, when it's not my turn to take Isaac to rugby training or a game on the sunday morning. See you all soon,
Chris.

Good to see you're applying for membership Chris, it will come up for consideration at the next committee meeting on 13th September.
I remember work, cars, marriage and kids causing several interruptions to my own riding, maybe I'll get back into it someday.
As I don't do club-runs, perhaps I'll meet up with you at any of our remaining events.
Cheers,
Ken Workman

Cheers Nick. Been to the velodrome and ridden when it first opened. Keep meaning to go back as I enjoyed it. Did the macc boxing day cross race a couple of times too, like you on my Mtb. Would like a cross bike and race the season but funds are limited atm.

Thanks to Ant yesterday for waiting for me at the top of every climb! I knew I was in trouble the minute I saw your group of wippets fly past me in Marple. The first little slope on strines road had me struggling to keep up while you lot just got quicker!
Still enjoyed the ride, despite the weather (or maybe because of the weather?)
I need to lose more weight and get better on the climbs :O

Well, pay day, and what to spend it on? How about a new cycling top in Wheelers colours

Very proud to be wearing this. Thanks to the chaps at Eddie Mcgrath today. A surprisingly pleasant ride out there as I was expecting the urban traffic to be a nightmare

I would love to come out on Sunday, but I have 2 birthday bashes on Saturday night so I am guessing I will be in no fit state!

Real shame as I have been waiting for another intro ride for weeks

Come along anyway Aaron, you can always turn back if you feel too rough. No pressure to do the entire ride.

Well done for joining the world's best bike club !

I recently left a comment on Bikeradar for 'cw42' - something about the Knutsford Vintage bike races a few weeks ago....was that you ?!

Hope to see you out on a ride soon.

Hi Gordon, I've probably seen you about Romiley on your bike. I've been out quite a lot recently and have lost a bit of weight too
Hope to see you on a ride soon
