So its the last club TT of the year tonight and the club competition is still up for grabs. Should be a good evening.

Im going to try and get there but the 50 mile round trip from Prestwich makes it a bit of a big event - has anyone tried getting a train out with bikes? Or can anyone give me a lift part way back if i ride out?

John Crellin is your man, he used to get the train out from Manchester for the Club 10s and TLI events..

No problem on the train with bikes Viv, done a few times over last few years. Times now don't work out as well as before though. Now trains are at just after 5 and just after 6 to Goostrey which either give you loads of time or not much time at all to get from Goostrey to Lower Withington at the other end. There is also some in between which stop at Alderley Edge and then would get a bit more of a ride down for a warm up.

Trains start at piccadilly so easy enough getting bike on (not the mad rush on the 5.30 to Glasgow coming through Oxford Road packed with commuters for Bolton and Preston which is always fun trying to wrestle a bike onto without taking someone shin off! particularly on christmas eve!)

Try the 1703 from Piccadilly to Goostrey arriving at 1743. It's operated by Northern Rail who are accomodating with bikes.

Calling at...

Levenshulme
Heaton Chapel
Stockport
Cheadle Hulme
Handforth
Wilmslow
Alderley Edge
Chelford

A single ticket will cost you £8.10. A return is £8.30

There is a train back at 2104.

But I'm sure you knew all this anyway.

Sure Mike might be able to give you a lift, seeing as he's out you're way, otherwise I can make a detour via the city centre

Sorted. Riding out, Martin is going to give me a lift part way back.

Good to know about the trains though the chances of me being able to leave work at 1703 are about nil.

Thanks all!

It's Thursday, it's the Wheelers club 10..................it's just started lashing it down!!! I knew I should have tried to work from home today and not been on my bike. What exactly has your club done to displease the weather gods of Cheshire?

Well done Mike, and also well done Jonathan on a very close second place ( 1 point )

Would also like to thank Stu, Michelle, John, Ken and all the other people who have helped make the Club 10s happen this year. Thumbs Up

wow that was close (again) glad to be on the right side of it this year though. I want to echo Si's words and thank everyone who turned up every week to help. Always a great atmosphere and perfect for learning about time trialling. Great riding by you Si to get 3rd with the times you have been doing.
