Time to improve your B.A.R 10 mile times peeps,
Team Swift Charity 10 on Sunday 29th of August on V718 in Hull (Where Hutch did 17:57 last week).
There are 2 events listed in the handbook, 120 entries for people faster than 22:00 in the last three seasons and the second event is for 120 people slower than 22:00 in the last three seasons so everyone should get a ride!!!!!
Closing date is the 10th of August so you must get your entrys in early next week

Just a reminder everyone, this event has a non-standard closing date. It closes on Tuesday (10th August) but the event isnt till the Sunday 29th August (Bank Hol weekend).
Pretty much anyone can get in this event as there are 3 events being run, 120 places for people faster than 22:00 in the last 3 seasons, 120 places for people slower than 22:00 in the last 3 seasons and 90 places for Women, Juniors and any overflow entrys from the other 2.
I think a few of us are planning on making a convoy up there, bikes in my van, bodys in a couple of cars. So dont be put off by how far away it is, i'm sure we can offer lifts etc between us all.
Another point is that this is the only event this year which allows entrys slower than 22:00, theres normally a couple of events a year like this but they may be dying out so get your entry in and get a fast time then you'll be able to get in most events for the next 3 years!
So get your entrys posted and you can have a lie in on the monday with a PB in your legs!!!

Copied from the Time Trialling Forum from the organiser of the Team Swift Charity 10.
"Just a reminder that the closing date for The Team Swift charity 10 in aid of McMillan closes on tuesday the 10th of August. The decision to have 3 events is well justified at the moment 117 riders faster than22 including competition recored holder and another 19 riders under 20 minutes ( if you are not a 19 minute man you will not be on a mark)70 riders are sub 21 so once again a fantastic field. Last year I sent 235 entries back ,I am pleased to say that i will not send many or any back this year. The slower than 22 has 105 entries to date and the ladies juniors and over flow has only20 . So there are still plentyof places (78)available although if I get 78 ladies and juniors entering I may have to send some back. "
Still time to get your entry in if you havent already!

Organiser has posted up on the TT forum, everyone who entered whichever race will get a ride one way or another (some of those just under 22 so in the fast event will end up in the overflow)

Right everyone,
Looks like everyone got a ride but were all a bit spaced out across the events. Anyone desperate for a lift? I plan to get there for 10am to see everyone race so if that time suits anyone I've got 2 spare seats and an empty van for bikes etc. Let me know so we can arrange it!
And let's all keep our fingers and toes crossed for a good day! Pbs for everyone hopefully!

Super Fast '10' everyone should enter!!
I have been advised by my lawyer to point out that I didnt promise anyone a guarenteed PB and that I mearly pointed out that if you entered you would get in.
I cannot be held responsible for 30mph winds that made the return leg ridiculously hard to stay in a straight line let alone ride at more than 19 MPH!
Apparently Hutch only managed a 19:57 compared to his 17:57 on there on a good day!

I quite enjoyed the first 4.8 miles at 30 mph, averaging 15 mph for the next 5 miles wasn't so enjoyable. Was really depressing watching my avearge speed drop by over 1mph each mile. Was so close to packing it in at the South Cave junction!

You know it's a bad day when Hutch puts this on his Twitter feed:

Felt a bit shell shocked when got back to the HQ.
Best HQ though...apart from the power cut...

Saw that Ian Whitell got 3rd place in the overflow event with 22.07 - nice one Ian. Did the apparently very windy conditions conspire to deter the extremely high number of DNS's ? They obviously weren't all as 'ard as Wilko ! !
