There's a thread on bikeradar about "Darryl Webster" who seems to be an ex-Wheeler: http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=12708549 Not a name I'm familiar with, anyone know him? Is he still a member? Is he reading this? edited by andyr on 15/06/2010

He was a top class UK rider. Looking at his spelling I think Will might have gone to the same school as him so he's probably the one to ask for further info. edited by Ian on 15/06/2010

He did ride for Warrington RC at some point. Not sure if he still is.
Jonesey's right - one of the greats of UK riding. Went to the 1984 Olympics.
John Dawson and co will be able to tell you much more about his time as a Wheeler - rode for the Club in the 80s.

Sorry what? Nothing wrong with my spelling, if you're going to go on about other peoples' spelling, then make sure yours is perfect.

Yes, a grammar error on my behalf, as people already means more than one person, people's would be belonging to multiple people anyway, peoples' is for multiple groups of people.

Oh right, everyday's a school day! I was trying to give you a compliment Will as I thought you were right!
Anyway, back to cycling (/work...)

The Darryl Webster that rides for Warrington doesn't look like the one that rode for us. I met the Warrington version last year at the National 50. Same name different person.

A colourful character if my memory serves me right, although not quite in the same mould as Eric Cantona. He seemed to be in dispute with the various official cycle sport bodies on a regular basis. Came from Leicester/East Midlands ? ? ?

I've just seen the Dukinfield start sheet and noticed that Darrel Websters minute man is Ian Brown. Does anyone have anything to say on the matter.

Actually it was a different rider, it was Daniel Ian Brown, he did a book signing at the end of the race.
