Good luck to everyone who's racing this weekend, Wheelers riders are spread far and wide, M&D 10 sees Sam M going for the Juvenile championship, Scott and Dave in the senior event, plus a few people are riding hilly TTs. On the road we're represented in the Eddie Soens tomorrow and the CDNW event at Treales on Sunday.
Just a reminder that this months target event is the M&DTTA 10 on 27th March. Entries close on 16th March so get your entries off soon if you plan to ride the event. edited by martinh on 05/03/2010

Corking result that Rob - from the reports i've heard the half the 4th cats failed to hold onto the juniors when they took the lap to catch the elites! All that pain on the A50's starting to pay off!
Nick and I were up at the treales CDNW yesterday. Lovely day for it, no ice on the deck and sun in the sky . Few forays off the front in the first lap to test the wind, field split in two at one point on the third lap but came back together. Went at it again after gong through with 5 to go - got away, group of 9 formed and stayed out for just under 3 laps - got sucked back up into the bunch legs cooled down and the the cramps kicked in! ;( Rolled over the line in te bunch, just happy to have given it a go after a nasty case of food poisoning last Sunday!

Unlucky Rothers, you cramped up at the finish last time we rode that event.
What can I say about Rob though - stunning result. I've riden a few Soens, and they're always tough, windy and cold.
It's rare for the first group off (Juniors/Women/4th CAT) to stay away and I think Steve Cummings was the last Junior to win this event (perhaps the only one ?).
So it just shows how hard the Juniors must have been driving that leading group. A lot of them will be future top Elite road and track riders, that's for sure. So it's an awsome achievement to have stayed with them. I wouldn't know what it's like to get BC license points in the first race of the year, but I can only imagine it gives you a real boost for the season. Rob will get his 2nd CAT by spring at this rate !!

If i'm not wrong though - i think Rob narrowly missed the muppet who when down in the gallop - look on the left just behind the flying bike

Good luck to all wheelers racing again this weekend.
There is another group going up to the Red Rose Olympic TLI series race at Salt Aire. There also appear to be a number of people riding the M&D 10 down in cheshire.
Lets hope the weather remains good for the weekend!
