Is anyone up for organising the chaingang on saturday, I know some people are racing but there should be plenty of people wanting to get out. Be assured the Leigh boys will be waiting at Chelford to spice things up. edited by martinh on 03/03/2010

I'm not around the next two Saturdays but we had a good group out last week - about 12 starters, and it stayed together and re-grouped fairly well so hopefully someone else can lead this week?

I'll be at the gateway as I want to do the chaingang, martinh said I could lead it but tbh I don't feel confident about leading a chaingang, unless I put my name down then when there is people at the square someone with more experience can lead it?

Thanks for stepping forward Will, for anyone planning to go out heres a few reminders of what we do.
Ride out to Alderley Edge, 2 minutes each at the front, 1 min right hand side and 1 minute on the left. Keep the pace around 21-22 mph, use as a warm up with the pace high to prevent bunching up (4 abreast) at the back.
Anyone needs a stop do it between Alderley and Chelford Island.
At Chelford|Island the chaingang gets going properly, if you get dropped, recover and try to get another group going rather than pushing on alone.
Finally make sure you obey the rules of the road, and make life easy for Will.
Cheers
Martin

I remember the route I think, I'll try draw it up later then perhaps I can lead more chaingagns.
So, up to Alderly edge riding as a group at like 20-22mph taking 2-4 mins on the front Then on that windy bit of road out of alderly start winding it up and doing the normal chaingang at like 23-28mph
That sound like how it goes?
And here is garmin data:

Did a fine job will, thanks to nick as well for hearding from the rear...was a nice day out quite pleased to stay with it mostly given i've not ridden at any pace in 2 weeks or so....probably tempting fate but it felt nicer with the weather being a tad warmer at last!
