What flavour pies? I'm more of a savoury pie man myself
Time to buy some new honest scales I'd say. The missus bought us some of those digi ones a while back, even trying to shift your weight about doesnt seem to help... edited by NickW on 08/02/2010

Has your weight on your mum's scales changed since January?

For those wondering about the spreadsheet, I will update this and provide some fancy pie charts soon.
In the meantime a moral question - do i trust my scales that have not moved since Jan, or my Mum's ones that show me 9lbs lighter?

Well, it was damage limitation last week, lots of comfort eating and no riding for the first 3 days. 11st 13lb, +1 lb and 158 mile covered. I'll take that given the amount I ate between Mon and Fri.

Child seat on bike with disc brakes

Ben - this (kind) of topic often comes up on the Singletrack forum. Might be worth doing a search there to see if anyone has any tips on mounting non-disc racks on bikes with disc frames.
Also, I wonder if the likes of SJS do any special mountings that might help you out.
I can understand why you don't want to go on the busy roads with him. Though I do tend to think that car drivers ought to use a bit more awareness, it seems that they can't always manage that. A few times I have seen a couple riding in the direction of the University with a small passenger in a seat and I slightly wince at the thought of the traffic, and that isn't even on Oxford road..!
When I think of great big boulevards like Princess Parkway, it does amaze me that no provision could be made for a decent, European style, bike lane. When I'm in charge, all of this will change.... edited by TomF on 08/02/2010

Hi Becks,
Sorry I've not been in contact since the track-night. Thanks again for getting me a ticket.
It'll be nice to meet up for a drink before. The Lass 'O Gowry is very close, but I don't mind where to be honest.
So is the itinery for the event - Saturday 13th 19:30 onwards ? Do you know how long it lasts ?

I'm sure Martin could knock-up an extension made from a couple of 2 litre coke bottles, painted green.

Yes Tom, it does.
I should have mentioned that it's the Co-Pilot Taxi I want to get, and it only fits a certain model of Blackburn pannier rack (which comes included when you buy the seat).
Blackburn don't appear to sell a rack for disc-brake bikes.
Overall, I'm not all that keen on taking little Aurélien out on the roads. For now, I'm just going to be taking him to nursery (only 3 weeks to go !) on my way to work. I've worked out a nice back street / park route that avoids the nasties, although it does require crossing the A56 at Dane Road / Glebelands Road.
It seems ironic that one of the plus points advertised for my bike was "full rack mounting points front and back". I guess Marin assumed someone out there would make a rack that fits.
I think Hamax make a child seat that clamps to the seat tube, but I doesn't seem very stable to me. And I've got a gear cable running down that tube anyhow.

I can confirm that the pace of the first group was savage! Far too much testosterone on display and a stubborn reluctance from all hands to be the first to wave the white flag and miss a turn. Mark spent the afternoon prostrate on the floor with a bad back, Nathan was last seen weeping and begging for Mars Bars about 5 miles from his home, Ste’s dog had to walk itself in the afternoon and I slept through the 2nd half of the rugby. If Nick is not a 2nd cat by May I will eat my hat.
I can also confirm that hostilities resumed on Overton Hill on Sundays club run!!!
